I put this sequence together more intuitively than intentionally (as always, I pull exclusively from releases I listened to over the month), though upon reviewing my selections an undeniable theme of leaving emerged. Fittingly contemplative for the change of seasons.

A personally dismal month was redeemed at the very end by, of all things, a 15 year (!) reunion of my high school graduating class. I acknowledge that most people do not look back fondly on that particular time in their life, and I felt quite similarly until I was out of my twenties. It’s only recently that I can properly appreciate what a remarkable group of human beings I had the good fortune of learning alongside during those formative years. The reunion was a much-needed reminder of how many people still give a fuck and are dreaming of/working toward a better world. By now we are well-acquainted with the fact that much of the technology purported to keep us connected more often than not serves to isolate and divide. Lest we forget the restorative power of gathering together out there in the real world…
